Research Interest

幾世紀以來腦神經科學家不斷的在努力拼湊出人腦各項功能的機制,但是臨床上對人腦每一個部位其功能的透視,僅能由病患的行為表癥及心智表現來作間接的推斷,而無法直接由醫學影像來判讀。能夠「看到」人類如何運用心智功能,一直是我們的夢想。近年來國際上在人腦功能的研究上有四大趨勢:(1)以超高磁場(3.OT或以上)磁振造影(MRI)設備從事腦部及身體各部位之常態及病態功能性研究(fMRI)及磁譜分析( MRS, magnetic resonance spectroscopy),其中尤以功能性腦磁振造影(fMRI)為重點所在;(2) 利用PET (Positron Emission Tomography) 深入神經傳導素受體之人腦活體造影研究 (Receptor Mapping);(3) 透過腦磁圖(Magnetoencephalography)及腦電圖 Electroencephalography 之臻毫秒高時間解析度,以探究腦網路神經元活勤之時序機轉;(4) 利用磁波(Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator)來刺激人腦神經以研究腦部之功能性聯結(functional connection)及可塑性(plasticity)。

我們的研究室位於台北榮民總醫院教研部的整合性腦功能研究室((Integrated Brain Research Laboratory)。目前使用3T-MRI, whole-head MEG, 3D-EEG 及 TMS 進行多項度之人腦科學研究。這些新方法學之結合將使我們充分具備進行整合性腦功能研究的能力。冀望將國內人類腦功能研究帶入新的紀元。以腦科學的角度切入,研究範疇含蓋神經醫學、精神醫學、復健醫學、認知神經科學、疼痛醫學、神經生理及藥理學、傳統醫學、醫學物理、影像醫學、醫學工程及人機介面等相關領域。在腦科學研究的議題上,研究室目前重點主題在各種精神疾患之中樞機制、運動學習及運動系統之中樞表徵,表皮性及內臟疼痛之中樞處理機制、周邊及脊髓與中樞神經損傷之可塑性、復健之腦部機理、語言之腦部處理、中風病人之腦部改變、急性耳聾之中樞病理功能性機制、睡眠之探討、針灸之中樞機轉、音樂家之腦對聲音及運動處理之特殊性、心算之腦部表徵、及其他。在技術上我們發展各項腦功能研究之模式分析技術及硬軟體發展。歡迎有志人腦科學研究的同學,加入我們的研究團隊。
